Quoi de neuf au CITT/ICTS

The Board of Directors of CITT/ICTS is pleased to announce the appointment of  Angela Drainville to the position of President and  Matt Frankish to the position of President-Elect.

Angela joined CITT/ICTS in 2014 and brings a wealth of experience to the position of President. A live event producer, marketer and health and safety professional, Angela works for Outcrop Communications, a Pan-Territorial marketing and event agency. She is the producer and artistic director of the Atlin Arts & Music Festival and has served as the president of Music Yukon, Yukon Educational Theatre and on the Board of the Canadian Arts Presenting Association CAPACOA.

In Angela’s words –  “I am honoured to be given the opportunity to serve the members of CITT/ICTS as President. This organization is one in which I have been a proud member for the past four years, and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, President-Elect Matt Frankish, and the regional sections, to recognize opportunities, diversify our membership, and continue to cultivate a meaningful presence in the live performance industry in Canada.”

President-Elect Matt Frankish has been involved in the production industry and theatre technology for over 20 years. He is currently working as a theatre consultant in the Greater Toronto Area. Matt holds a degree in Theatre (Design and Technology) from the University of Leeds in the UK and has been living and working in Canada for 11 years. He has been a CITT/ICTS member since 2008.

Angela and Matt assume their new positions on November 1, 2018, joining current board members:

Le conseil d’administration du CITT/ICTS est heureux d’annoncer la nomination d’ Angela Drainville au poste de présidente et de  Matt Frankish au poste de président désigné.

Angela a joint le CITT/ICTS en 2014 et s'amène dans son nouveau rôle de présidente avec une vaste expérience. Productrice, spécialiste du marketing et de la santé et de la sécurité, Angela travaille pour l’organisation Outcrop Communications, une agence de marketing et d’organisation d’événements pan-territoriale. Elle est productrice et directrice artistique du Atlin Arts & Music Festival et a été présidente de Music Yukon, du Yukon Educational Theatre et membre du conseil d'administration de CAPACOA.

Angela déclare :  «Je suis honorée d’avoir l’occasion de servir les membres du CITT/ICTS en tant que présidente. Je suis fière d’être membre de cet organisme depuis quatre ans et je me réjouis de travailler avec le conseil d’administration, le président désigné Matt Frankish et les sections régionales afin de découvrir les opportunités, de diversifier l’effectif et de continuer à cultiver une présence significative dans l'industrie des arts de la scène au Canada.»

Le président désigné Matt Frankish est impliqué dans l'industrie de la production et les technologies théâtrales depuis plus de 20 ans. Il travaille actuellement comme consultant en théâtre dans la région de Toronto. Matt est titulaire d'un diplôme en théâtre (design et technologie) de l'Université de Leeds au Royaume-Uni. Il vit et travaille au Canada depuis 11 ans. Il est membre du CITT/ICTS depuis 2008.

Angela et Matt entreront en fonction le 1er novembre 2018 et rejoindront les membres actuels du conseil d'administration:

Nominations for the eighth annual Gina Wilkinson Prize  (Gina's Prize) are now being accepted.

Established in memory of director  Gina Wilkinson , who was a beloved actor and director across the country, the prize is intended to recognize an experienced female theatre artist transitioning from one theatre discipline into the discipline of theatre direction. The annual prize pays tribute to Gina and her unyielding dedication, vision and indomitable spirit that imbued her work and her life.  The recipient will be chosen from nominations brought forward by members of the Canadian theatre community. This year's nomination deadline is December 15, 2018 with the award recipient announced on March 10, 2019.

Une actrice pour plus de vingt ans, Gina a effectué une transition vers la mise en scène et ce prix reconnaît une artiste de théâtre expérimentée qui effectue une transition d’une discipline théâtrale vers la mise en scène. New report provides insight into

the status of women in the arts in Canada

Toronto, October 17, 2018 – The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) has released  The status of women in the Canadian arts and cultural industries: Research review 2010–18 , a report commissioned from a research team led by Dr. Amanda Coles, a Canadian on faculty at Australia’s Deakin University.

This report provides an important synthesis of existing research on the status of women in the arts in Ontario and Canada.The majority of existing research focuses on specific sectors (such as media arts/screen, theatre, etc.), rather than addressing the arts and cultural industries as a whole.



The report covers six sectors: visual arts, dance, theatre, literature, music and media arts/screen.

Un nouveau rapport décrit la situation des femmes dans les arts au Canada

Toronto, 17 octobre 2018 – Le Conseil des arts de l’Ontario (CAO) vient de publier  Situation des femmes dans les industries artistiques et culturelles au Canada : examen de la recherche 2010-2018 , un rapport commandé auprès d’une équipe de recherche dirigée par Amanda Coles, une Canadienne membre du corps professoral de l’Université Deakin en Australie.

Ce rapport présente une synthèse importante des recherches existantes sur la situation des femmes dans les arts en Ontario et au Canada. La majorité des recherches existantes porte sur des secteurs particuliers, comme les arts médiatiques/sur écran, le théâtre, etc., au lieu d’examiner l’ensemble des industries artistiques et culturelles.



Le rapport se penche sur six secteurs : les arts visuels, la danse, le théâtre, la littérature, la musique et les arts médiatiques/sur écran.
