WEEKLY WRAP UP for Friday, Nov. 8, 2019

A message from your Chamber

We have had numerous questions about the trees that are being planted in Taylor on 79 and 2nd St, 79 and 4th St. and 79 and 95 so that we thought we would give you all the information we could get our hands on about it.
It's called the Green Ribbon project and it is being done by the Texas Department of Transportation. We learned that and more from our local newspaper. You can read what the Taylor Press said about it in September here .
That story pretty much wraps up what you need to know but if you are a nerd, like I am, it's fun to learn even more. So I searched the internet and found stories from lots of communities where this project is going on or has been done over the last few years. I found lots and lots of information here some of which is reflected below.

Every one loves a parade!
   ...especially a lighted Christmas Parade!
Don't miss your chance to get into the fun and represent your business, organization, family or church as Taylor welcomes the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 7. Click HERE for registration information and rules for parade entries.

Christmas Bazaar
The Taylor Main Street Association will host the annual Christmas Bazaar 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at City Hall and Heritage Square Park. Click HERE to learn more and download a vendor application.

Citizen of the Year

  • Engagement in a variety of community activities over an extended period of time
  • Recognition as a caring and sharing person who donated his or her time and talents for the betterment of the community.
  • Motivation to do for others and secured results that benefited the community at large, not just one particular group, organization, project or segment of the community.
