What the Mental Health Tsunami Means

for Our Community

CEO Update

Let’s just stop for a moment and think about the past three years. We’ve lived through very stressful, unprecedented times. The 20th Annual Cup of Compassion

On Thursday, February 20th, over 500 community members gathered for the Crisis Center's 20th annual Cup of Compassion fundraising breakfast.

Deanne King of WFLA served as the mistress of ceremonies. The event speakers included Board Chair Roger Boothroyd, client Lisa Yob, Crisis Center CEO Clara Reynolds, and Sheriff Chad Chronister.

Clara Reynolds reflected on the mental health tsunami that our world is experiencing as a result of the past few years, as seen through the increased requests for help that the Crisis Center has experienced in it's client service areas.

As this year's presenting sponsor, Sheriff Chad Chronister shared how important it is for the community to support the Crisis Center, so the Crisis Center can continue to support the community.

A special thank you to our event sponsors, as well as Bob Gries and Elizabeth and Tim Traud who each committed to matching up to $25,000 in gifts. Derek and Jen Iavarone committed to a $10,000 match, and the Crisis Center 's Board of Directors also provided a match. Combined with attendee donations, we raised over $755,000, making this the most successful Cup of Compassion breakfast yet!
