That's not universally true, I suppose. Your name in the obituary section of your local newspaper is publicity not worth celebrating. But what people are saying about "The Reliant" is good marketing for the movie, critical to the success of any indie film.
A journalist for the
Atlanta Constitution
wrote in 1915,
"All publicity is good if it is intelligent."
Oscar Wilde said similarly,
"The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."
