Spring break is almost here, and on top of anything else, you truly deserve a break. Rest, sleep in, spend time with people you care about, and enjoy being off your normal routine.

During the break, look for small pockets of time to think about your career goals. Start with informal networking: conversations with family, friends, or community members can uncover connections in industries you’re curious about. Consider completing a short online course or certification (LinkedIn Learning) to build a specific, in-demand skill. If you’re home, explore shadowing opportunities by reaching out to local businesses to observe a professional for a day or two. Volunteering is another great option—it strengthens your résumé while expanding your network. Finally, use the break to reassess your goals for the rest of the semester and adjust your job search strategy if needed. Even updating your résumé or LinkedIn profile can make a difference.

Most importantly, be kind to yourself. Wishing you a healthy, restful, and enjoyable spring break.
