Happy St. Patrick's Day from Chicago
Yes, Chicago takes St. Patrick's Day VERY seriously.

The green dye in the Chicago River won't be quite so vibrant when you join us for Serra's 78th international convention in October, but the Riverwalk is one of the city's most famous attractions.

Concessions and vendors are closed for the season, but put on some comfortable shoes, get yourself a hot coffee or snack, and stroll along the water while you enjoy outstanding views of some of the city's legendary architecture.
Toronto June 2021 Convention Postponed;
Serrans to Meet in Chicago, Oct. 7-10, 2021
As we expect most parts of the Serra world to be in a better position in terms of Covid-19 vaccinations and a decline in infection rates this Fall, we have postponed the Toronto convention until 2022 and scheduled a streamlined Serra International Convention experience in Chicago on October 7-10, 2021!
Reserve Your Room at the Palmer House Hilton
Serra International has reserved a block of rooms at the historic and beautiful Palmer House Hilton hotel, at the unbelievable rate of $149 per night. Founded in 1871, the Palmer House is the longest-operating hotel in North America and a designated Chicago landmark.

The Palmer House is near multiple Chicago world-class attractions, including the Art Institute, the Field Museum, and the Shedd Aquarium. It's also surrounded by some of the finest and most fun shopping Chicago has to offer.

Early October is one of the finest times to visit Chicago, with highs in the mid to high 60s F. Check out the average weather for that time here.

Best activity within walking distance of the Palmer House
The Chicago Cultural Center is just two blocks north of the Palmer House, is free to the public, and always has interesting exhibits. The Center, which was once the main branch of the Chicago Public Library, is home to the world's largest Tiffany glass dome. The Chicago Cultural Center is a great place to spend 20 minutes to three hours.
Favorite Catholic space in Chicago
The Chapel of St. James the Greater, at the Archbishop Quigley Center (formerly Archbishop Quigley Preparatory High School Seminary - and my alma mater) is a hidden gem.

Located a few blocks from Water Tower Place, this chapel has some of the most inspiring stained glass windows in Chicago.
Recommended Dining
For lively and casual dining, you would be hard pressed to find a better spot than Miller's Pub. Situated on the same block as the Palmer House, Miller's Pub remains a bastian of friendly and unpretentious dining, plus it has a great history

Alternatively, Revival Food Hall, is an excellent place for larger groups or a good spot to visit when you aren't sure what everyone wants to eat. With more than 15 restaurants to choose from, you are guaranteed to find something you will like.
