Dear LLESD Families,
We are pleased to provide free meals to our students this school year as part of the new California Universal Meals Program. Unfortunately, we ran into a little hitch for the first week of school when we received notice from our vendor of their need to temporarily suspend service.
With very little time and no way to prepare the meals ourselves, we had to get creative and we did!
Here’s what you can expect for the first week of school:
Tomorrow, Thursday, 8/25:
Breakfast: Breakfast bar, milk, fresh mandarin fruit
Lunch: Subway sandwich, milk, fresh mandarin fruit or apple sauce (veggie with cheese or variety of meat with cheese)
Friday, 8/26:
Breakfast: Breakfast bar, milk, fresh mandarin fruit
Lunch: Pizza (cheese or pepperoni), milk, fresh mandarin fruit
Monday, 8/29 - Friday, 9/2:
We have partnered with the San Mateo Foster City School District and they are helping us out next week and providing food for us to serve our students.
How your family can help the week of Monday, 8/29 - Friday, 9/2/22:
- If you normally pack your child’s breakfast or lunch, please continue doing so.
- If you rely on school provided meals for breakfast or lunch but are able to pack your child’s meals, please do so until our food service vendor resumes service.
- If you are unable to provide meals from home, we’ll provide meals for your child(ren).

We are hopeful that The LunchMaster will be able to resume school meal service by September 6, 2022, as announced. We will continue to provide updates when we have more information and we’ll let you once The LunchMaster’s online ordering system is available again.
