~ CALL TO ACTION ~

SPEAK OUT ABOUT FELONY SEX OFFENDERS

Eight felony sex offenders have moved into a single-family home in Longmont near Alpine Elementary School and a Park. There are no ordinances restricting how many felony sex offenders can live in one dwelling, no distance setbacks for schools or parks, and no limit to the number of similar commercial enterprises that can move them into homes in Longmont. These men present a danger to our community. Please act now to keep our community safe!

Run for Office!

Whether you are considering running for local office such as school board or city council, or a county office like county commissioner, or a state legislative seat, elected officials should be made up of average citizens like us but getting started can be daunting.

Don’t let the process intimidate you.

There are quite a few resources available to help make sure you have the proper paperwork in place to make your candidacy official, and you will find many people who have run for office at one time or another at the Boulder County GOP office.

If you are considering a run, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions and we would be more than happy to help!

School Board Candidates

The 2025 election cycle offers opportunities to run for school board in both BVSD and SVVSD. School board members serve 4 year terms.

There are 3 open seats on the Boulder Valley School Board:

  • District B (currently held by Tina Marquis)
  • District E (currently held by Donna Miers)
  • District F (currently held by Kitty Sargent)

There are 3 open seats on the St. Vrain Valley School Board:

  • District B (currently held by Karen Ragland)
  • District D (currently held by Meosha Brooks)
  • District F (currently held by Sarah Hurianek)

Peggy Kelly is running for school board in SVVSD District B, she has registered with the CO SoS office and has begun campaign operations. Now is the time to rally our resources behind Peggy and all other school board candidates that may run.

Contact Peggy, Cell phone: (303) 815-0604, Email: pgyakelly@gmail.com

Here’s how Boulder County Republicans can help Peggy:

  • VOTE for our candidates when you receive your ballot. Be sure to vote early by taking your ballot inside the voter services office and personally placing your ballot (and up to 9 additional ballots), into the silver ballot box.
  • DONATE to her campaign. Lots of small dollar donations add up, if you are able to contribute a little each month, that is encouraged and appreciated. One larger donation, maybe from a tax refund, that might be a better option.
  • VOLUNTEER to actively participate on the campaign. There are lots of different opportunities to help our candidates. Door knocking will be the best method for getting out the vote, however, there are many other ways to help.
  • TELL your family and friends to vote for Peggy. It is estimated that only 25% of registered voters vote in the off-cycle elections (odd years). Because of this, school board elections can be won or loss by very small margins…every vote will count! Also, remember that you can vote for the number of candidates that equal the number of open seats.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a school board candidate, or desire to support candidates, please contact the BCR office at: info@bocogop.org

The Perils of HB25-1312
A Boulder County Mother's Resolve
I've never been one to rock the boat, scream, chant, or often dissent. In fact, I'm a skilled mediator and a lover of logic, reason, self-control and good sense.
There are those few things in life, however, that can "boil the blood" and stir one to courage. This issue is one.
The very proposition put forth in HB25-1312 at its onset (and one of the most egregious being fought out presently in our 50 states), that a parent could not guide their child about the gravest of moral issues or simply the very best interest of that child is truly evil incarnate - that being, the shackling of speech within the walls of a home, a church, or any space where the well-guided rearing of our children per our Creator-appointed roles takes place.
Last week, I'd had enough and found myself on the steps of the Colorado State Capitol to rally against 1312 and was surrounded and edified by the mere presence of strangers. I was so proud of these fellow Coloradans.
The right to say what is good and true and keenly observed with the human eye should never be overshadowed by the need to appease others of their delusions, disorientations or wishful thinking.
Additionally, the underhanded approach to force anyone to act contrary to what they observe or know to be right is its own form of tyranny... And that is neither a republican or democrat issue, but rather a human crisis of freedom and liberty.
Thomas Jefferson once declared, "I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."
My mind is my own and I will not be afraid.
Yours in the good fight,
Beth Link
