The 1916 Project Screening & Discussion
Wednesday, April 9, 2025
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm MT
Fran & Larry Donnithorne Great Hall; Anschutz Student Center
Colorado Christian University
8787 W. Alameda Ave.
Lakewood, CO 80226
Join the Centennial Institute and CCU for Life for a screening of Seth Gruber’s new documentary, The 1916 Project, followed by a discussion about the film’s main themes with AJ Hurley, national organizer of outreach for The White Rose Resistance.
The 1916 Project is a powerful documentary that uncovers the disturbing legacy of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, and her deep ties to the eugenics movement (a harmful pseudoscientific belief aimed at “improving” humanity by controlling who could reproduce.
This ideology targeted marginalized groups—especially people of color, the poor, and those with disabilities—justifying horrific policies like forced sterilizations and treating human lives as disposable). Through compelling historical research and expert analysis, the film reveals how Sanger’s racist and elitist ideologies have shaped the modern cultural landscape. From the promotion of abortion to the breakdown of family structures and the rise of gender confusion, The 1916 Project exposes the enduring impact of her influence, particularly on communities of color. The film serves as a call to action for those seeking to understand the origins of America’s moral decline and the forces at play in today’s culture war.

Colorado March for Life

10:00 am – 2:00 pm MT
Colorado State Capitol
200 E Colfax Ave
Denver, CO 80203
Join the national March for Life and Pro-Life Colorado for the Colorado March for Life!
Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe on the national level, the fight for the preborn has moved to the states. Colorado has some of the most radical abortion laws in the country, allowing unfettered access to abortion services and codifying that a preborn life does not have rights. It is now more important than ever to be a voice for the voiceless before our state legislators. We hope you join us!

The 2025 election cycle offers opportunities to run for school board in both BVSD and SVVSD. School board members serve 4 year terms.
There are 3 open seats on the Boulder Valley School Board:
- District B (currently held by Tina Marquis)
- District E (currently held by Donna Miers)
- District F (currently held by Kitty Sargent)
There are 3 open seats on the St. Vrain Valley School Board:
- District B (currently held by Karen Ragland)
- District D (currently held by Meosha Brooks)
- District F (currently held by Sarah Hurianek)
Peggy Kelly is running for school board in SVVSD District B, she has registered with the CO SoS office and has begun campaign operations. Now is the time to rally our resources behind Peggy and all other school board candidates that may run.
Contact Peggy, Cell phone: (303) 815-0604, Email: pgyakelly@gmail.com
Here’s how Boulder County Republicans can help Peggy:
- VOTE for our candidates when you receive your ballot. Be sure to vote early by taking your ballot inside the voter services office and personally placing your ballot (and up to 9 additional ballots), into the silver ballot box.
- DONATE to her campaign. Lots of small dollar donations add up, if you are able to contribute a little each month, that is encouraged and appreciated. One larger donation, maybe from a tax refund, that might be a better option.
- VOLUNTEER to actively participate on the campaign. There are lots of different opportunities to help our candidates. Door knocking will be the best method for getting out the vote, however, there are many other ways to help.
- TELL your family and friends to vote for Peggy. It is estimated that only 25% of registered voters vote in the off-cycle elections (odd years). Because of this, school board elections can be won or loss by very small margins…every vote will count! Also, remember that you can vote for the number of candidates that equal the number of open seats.
If you are interested in learning more about becoming a school board candidate, or desire to support candidates, please contact the BCR office at: info@bocogop.org

Legislative Action Committee |
The 2025 Legislative Session is well underway at the Capitol, there are many bills in various stages of the legislative process. The BCR Legislative Action Committee will be headed up by Vice Chair George Tristan. This committee will be responsible for staying abreast of the good bills and the bad ones, they will develop action plans that will include contacting Legislators urging them to act on bills according to our principles and values. We also plan to also testify before the Legislature both in person and virtually.
Here are a few notable bills to review, unfortunately, there are too many to mention. Included below, are a few important web links.

House Bill 25-1276
Court Actions Related to Failure to Appear in Court
Rep. Matt Soper - Prime Sponsor
HB25-1276 is a smart step toward restoring accountability in our courts by addressing the cycle of defendants who repeatedly fail to appear and still receive PR bonds. Judges need more discretion to respond to these repeat no-shows, who currently face little consequence. This bill helps strengthen public safety, court efficiency, and trust in the judicial process. We encourage community members to testify in support of this commonsense reform.
This bill will be heard in the Judiciary Committee on
Tuesday, April 8th
At 1:30 PM

House Bill 25-1304
Extension of Restitution Deadlines
Rep. Matt Soper - Prime Sponsor
HB25-1304 is an important bill that ensures victim-survivors have a meaningful opportunity to seek restitution by giving the court up to 91 days following the receipt of documentation or 182 days after conviction, whichever is earlier, to review and issue an order. Restitution is a critical tool in helping victims recover and promoting the rehabilitation of the defendant. While this bill provides necessary protections for victims, it is at risk of being blocked, and we encourage people to testify in support to help ensure it becomes law.
This bill will be heard in the Judiciary Committee on
Tuesday, April 8th
At 1:30 PM

House Resolution 25-1023
Require General Assembly TABOR Constitutionality Lawsuit
HJR25-1023 is a dangerous resolution that threatens to dismantle the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights (TABOR) by challenging its constitutionality in court even though voters have resoundingly voted for TABOR. If successful, this lawsuit could eliminate TABOR's refund requirements, allowing the state to retain excess revenue and increase spending without voter approval. This would undermine the will of Colorado voters, who have long supported TABOR as a crucial safeguard against unchecked government growth. Eliminating TABOR would open the door to unlimited state spending and higher taxes, jeopardizing the financial stability that has been ensured by this voter-approved measure for decades.
This bill will be heard on the House Floor on
Monday, April 7th
