Growing With PACE
"I love coming here. There's a lot going on and it keeps my mind interested,” said
Sheila, a CHA PACE participant. “I like the people I've met. I say that from my heart."
CHA PACE is an incredible program for older adults that offers Sheila, and others like her, the support they need to stay independent. The program is free for those who are eligible and provides a wide range of services like healthcare, medications, transportation, daily activities and in-home support services.
PACE is more popular than ever. As of September 1, CHA PACE has more than 600 participants, growing 25 percent in the last two years. If you’re an older adult with health needs, or if you have a parent with health needs and a limited income, CHA PACE may be able to help.

Vaccines Keep COVID-19 and Flu Away.
Holidays can be dangerous if you’re not careful. We expect a very active flu season and Europe is having a COVID-19 surge. Don’t wait to get your flu shot and the new COVID booster. Both types of shots are “bivalent”, meaning they protect you from the most current versions of these viruses.
Protect yourself and the ones you love by visiting one of our COVID and Flu vaccine clinics.

More in MyChart
You can now see more of your health information in MyChart. This includes notes your care team puts into your medical record. For example, you can see (with some exceptions) notes about your health written by a nurse who spoke to you over the phone, notes from your care team about your laboratory or imaging results, and notes about your progress.
If you have questions about the information in your medical records, including care team notes, please ask your provider. If you think there is an error in your medical records, you can request an amendment by completing this form and sending it to the CHA Privacy Office at 103 Garland Street, Everett, MA 02149.

Get Healthcare in a Group
When you join a CHA group program, you get health care and education in a supportive setting with others who share your health concerns. Research shows these visits can help you understand your health and take steps to feel better. CHA now has two new groups to keep you healthy:
-
Acupuncture: A 6-7 week series, community-style acupuncture group for 18+, limited to 4-8 people.
-
Health for Every Body: An in-person group for English and Spanish speakers that focuses on lifestyle behaviors, intuitive eating, movement mindfulness and body image.

Seeing Pink?
Pink, the national color for breast cancer, is everywhere in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We hope it’s reminding you to do monthly self breast exams and schedule your next mammogram.
According to the CDC, “Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States (some kinds of skin cancer are the most common). Black women die from breast cancer at a higher rate than White women.” Men can get breast cancer too, but it is rare.
