MARCH 2021
Hello Friend of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta,

As always, we are committed to doing Whatever it Takes to meet the needs of every kid that walks through our doors.

At the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta, now, more than ever, we are called upon to harness the power of our experience serving the youth of Siskiyou County by adapting and finding innovative ways to empower young people to remain resilient, to draw upon their strengths, and work towards creating a brighter future for this pivotal next generation of builders, innovators, and leaders

To best meet the needs of youth, we have placed social-emotional wellness at the forefront. Through the onboarding of a trauma-informed specialist who works closely with our staff and Club members, together, we are creating an enhanced support network for youth, empowering them to achieve positive outcomes, while also providing the expertise necessary to assist youth who are struggling with mental health challenges. We are infusing Club programs and Club culture with a strength-based and trauma-informed approach aimed at building resilience & coping skills, providing a much-needed sense of safety & routine, and connecting with youth who might otherwise be isolated & overwhelmed.

In order for us to continue to provide youth with additional social-emotional support, we need your help.

Kindly consider giving a gift and, together, we can continue to create a positive future for the youth of Siskiyou County. One where they will not only survive, but thrive.

Thank you all again for your continued support. From everyone at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta, we are wishing you and your family good health and happiness.

Sincerely,

Noam Zimin
CEO,
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta
FEEL GOOD FRIDAY
We would like to share with you our Club's tradition, Feel Good Fridays, a day that celebrates fun, inclusion, and kindness. Where Club staff recognize individual youth for their random acts of kindness during that week and empower Club members to remain resilient, kind, and compassionate, especially in the face of adversity. Where Club kids can celebrate their achievements with special games & activities, or even a fun-filled pizza party.

FUN FROM LAST MONTH
In February, the fun and excitement were high, as Club members
were able to have fun and be kids while engaging in enriching activities, receiving academic assistance & nutritious snacks and meals, and gaining the sense of belonging and support that BGCGS brings to its' members lives.
WAYS TO SUPPORT THE CLUB
DO YOU SHOP ON AMAZON?!
HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO GIVE TO YOUTH:
Did you know that by simply purchasing your regular Amazon purchases through Amazon Smile, Amazon donates .05% of your purchases to the Club with no impact on your purchase total?

Let's break this down a bit...

According to Amazon, the average family spends about $100/month on Amazon purchases. That means over the course of a year, your purchases could result in a $60 donation to the Club. Multiply that by all of our supporters, and imagine the change you can make for Siskiyou County youth!

If you have any questions, please call our Office at 530-220-7623.
