Blueprints for a Better Tomorrow

Get Ready for GivingTuesday 2026

Save the date for GivingTuesday on December 1st and help build a better tomorrow by supporting Blue Door’s Construct program!

Construct is an eight-week skilled trades training program that equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to pursue careers in the trades. Through paid training and wraparound supports, including transportation assistance, psychotherapy, food, and essential safety equipment, Construct helps individuals facing barriers to employment and housing instability build pathways toward a more stable future.

This GivingTuesday, you have the power to turn ambition into action and dreams into reality. By supporting Blue Door's Construct, you're helping to create meaningful opportunities, unlock potential, and lay the foundation for stronger, more resilient communities.

The Impact of Social Services: Addressing Regional Underfunding

Tune in tomorrow for a new episode of On the Way Home!

Sean Meagher, Executive Director of Change Lab, is joined by Marie Morton, Executive Director of CAYR Community Services in York Region; Rishia Burke, Executive Director of Community Development Halton; and Gurpreet Malhotra, CEO of Indus Community Services in Peel Region.

Together, they explore how rapid population growth across York, Halton, and Peel Region has outpaced funding for essential social services, creating significant gaps compared to larger urban centres like Toronto and Ottawa.

From hospitals and shelters to vital community supports, the conversation highlights the growing pressures facing these regions, the impact of underfunding on individuals and families, and why equitable investment is essential to building stronger, healthier communities.
