New Aquaponics Project
For quite some time, we have felt God leading us to set up an Aquaponics Project. Aquaponics combines aquaculture (fish and the nutrients produced as they eat and process fish feed) with hydroponics (plants growing in the water circulating from the fish tanks).
We are building it on the site of the oldest building on the NLCH property, the very first children's dorm that was later converted into a worker's dorm. That building was torn down late last fall and preparation has begun for beginning construction, hopefully within the next couple of months. We are only awaiting the building permit... please pray with us that the permit would be granted soon!
The Aquaponics Project will not only provide fresh fish and vegetables for the children, but it will also serve as a training center for our school kids as well as potentially others from Guatemala, Central America and throughout Latin America.
We are raising funds not only to construct the greenhouse and the rest of the project, but also funds to operate it for the first two years, allowing us to get it up, running, and self-sustaining.
Total Budget $350,000
Amount Received/Pledged $150,000
Amount Needed $200,000
Please pray with us about this project. If you feel led to give, you can do so by marking your gift for "NLCH Aquaponics" or visit this link to give online:
