Wheeler and CHWC Explore Partnership

Wheeler and Community Health & Wellness Center (CHWC), a federally qualified heath center based in Torrington, Winsted, and North Canaan, have signed a letter of intent to evaluate combining organizations into one. We believe this strategic partnership would significantly strengthen and expand access to care for cities and towns in Torrington and the Northwest Hills region.

Wheeler’s Elizabeth Lawton Shares Expertise at State Symposium

Elizabeth Lawton, APRN, FNP-BC, is a passionate leader in our Bristol health center and our Mobile Family Health & Wellness Center, particularly with our care for unhoused individuals. Earlier this month, she presented "Mobile Medical Care: Pearls and Pitfalls" at the 2025 Connecticut Healthcare for the Homeless Symposium.

Foodshare Fridays Deliver Dignity and Hope in New Britain

Every other Friday, Wheeler’s Mobile Family Health & Wellness Center partners with Connecticut Foodshare to bring fresh, nutritious food to individuals and families in New Britain. This effort not only addresses food insecurity but also fosters dignity, hope, and community connection. By combining access to healthy food with Wheeler’s wide range of health services, Foodshare Fridays ensure that individuals receive the support they need for both body and mind.
