Finding hope in tough times

November 2025 Newsletter

Feeling hopeless? We get it. Many of us are experiencing the heaviness of all that is happening around us. It can be hard to stay optimistic when headlines continually bring difficult news, and as the needs around us seem unending.

In moments like these, we have an opportunity to bring hope to others by taking action.

Every day, DRTx experiences hope that helps us keep going because of people like you. Your acts of generosity help your Texas neighbors with disabilities to access housing, jobs, healthcare, education, the voting booth, independence, and so much more.

Here's what one of our clients had to say about how your support brings hope:

"For families like mine, organizations like Disability Rights Texas are not just a resource; you are often the last and only hope. We are parents, not lawyers, and without an advocate like our DRTx attorney, we would be silenced and lost within the bureaucracy. This experience has underscored for me just how essential your work is in leveling the playing field for the most vulnerable members of our community."

As we approach the end of another year, your gift to our “Building a Way Forward campaign keeps this hope alive for the millions of Texans with disabilities who are counting on us.

Can't afford to give right now? There are several ways you can still help:

  • Raise money for DRTx through a Facebook fundraiser. (If you raise $150 or more by December 31, 2025, you'll receive a free t-shirt from our merch store.)
  • Follow us on social media and share our fundraising posts with others.
  • Share this email with others who you think might be able to give.
  • Share your story about how DRTx helped you so we can share it with others.
