Commemorating and Celebrating Juneteenth
In observance of Juneteenth this year, all of LEAP's offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th.
What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of slavery, marking a significant moment in American history.
