BONJOUR

Dear Readers, 🇺🇸

Las Vegas is heading into a particularly active late Summer with two noteworthy events our readers won’t want to miss. 👉 The first takes place on Monday, August 25 at Ocean Pearl Smokehouse (1910 E Maule Ave). Hosted by François Gérard, this free community gathering will include complimentary appetizers and an open conversation about import tariffs and the current state of tourism in Las Vegas, with the participation of Senator Olivier Cadic. This event is open to all, organized by the French-American Chamber of Commerce, and registration is available here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/meet-senator-olivier-cadic

The Global Powerful Women Group with Founder and CEO, Rashida Azizi (Center).

The second event will be held on September 25 at Ooh La La French Bistro and is organized by Global Powerful Women. Founded in Germany and now expanding its footprint in Las Vegas, Global Powerful Women aims to empower women at every stage of their personal and professional lives. The organization brings together entrepreneurs and business leaders through curated networking events, educational programs and mentoring opportunities designed to foster community and growth. 👉 The invitation-only fundraising dinner will bring together a hand-selected group of influential women from the Las Vegas business community. While Global Powerful Women is a for-profit organization, part of the proceeds will benefit Vegas for Athletes, a nonprofit offering free heart screenings to local students. The remaining funds will go toward the cost of the dinner and support the organization’s mentoring and networking programs for women. For more information, contact Global Powerful Women directly.

Looking east, La Maison Française in Washington, D.C., continues to serve as a landmark of French cultural diplomacy. Located within the French Embassy, it regularly hosts public events—ranging from film screenings and exhibitions to conferences and receptions—highlighting the richness of French art and cultural heritage in an elegant and accessible setting. In Atlanta, SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film will open its Jeanne Lanvin: Haute Couture Heritage exhibition on September 12, 2025. Featuring more than 60 archival garments, illustrations and photographs, the exhibition explores the evolution of the Lanvin couture house from a modest Paris hat shop to one of the most influential fashion houses of the 20th century. The show runs through February 16, 2026. And finally, for those planning a trip to Miami in September, the city offers a rich blend of art and gastronomy. With fewer tourists, the Wynwood Arts District and Miami Design District are especially pleasant to explore, and the local culinary scene—energized by three newly Michelin-starred restaurants—is entering one of its most exciting periods of the year. As far as seasonal style trends go, August marks a return to refined classics. The exuberant, beaded DIY jewelry of earlier summer has been replaced by elegant gold stainless steel, natural stones and 70s-inspired vintage pieces—timeless accents that reflect a growing desire for durability and understatement.
