School has started!

As students head back to school, remember that our campuses are some of the best, and most important, places to spread the pro-life message. We cannot build a pro-life future if we are not changing the present now.

Louisiana Right to Life can help train and educate students of all age groups, from college, high school, and even into middle school.

Here are some of the pro-life student leaders gathering in New Orleans recently:

Nola Students

We have similar gatherings in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles coming soon. If you are interested in attending or having our team speak at a school near you, please let me know

And on college campuses, our students are already active. Here is Amy at LSU-Eunice hosting a table to sign up new pro-lifers!

Amy from LSUE

And, don't worry, we can also help at a public high school, too! We just need your help!

Where Do the Candidates Stand on Life Issues?

2016 Elections:
Senate and House Candidates Answer Questionnaire

Will the U.S. Senate remain pro-life?

What will the Supreme Court look like for the next generation?

These are critical questions that will begin to be answered on Nov. 8.  Louisiana voters will have a hand when they elect a new U.S. Senator to replace long-time pro-life Senator David Vitter.

Voters will also be electing their Congressmen, and two of the districts (the 3rd and the 4th) are without returning incumbents, meaning we will see at least two new Congressmen on our roster soon.

Both the House of Representatives and the Senate could see a multitude of pro-life votes in 2017 and beyond on issues such as defunding Planned Parenthood, protecting conscience rights, and preventing tax dollars from being used to pay for abortions.  It is critical we have pro-life elected officials to represent us in D.C.

But before going to the polls, Louisiana voters like yourself need to evaluate candidates for Senate and House, not just on platitudes, but reviewing actual answers to questions that show how candidates might vote on issues that could come before Congress in 2017 and beyond.

Because of this, Louisiana Right to Life has published the responses to our 2016 Candidate Questionnaires in both the House and Senate races, along with relevant voting records if available.

Our 2016 Candidate Questionnaires covered a variety of pro-life public policy topics such as abortion, Supreme Court nominees, end of life care, assisted suicide, human embryo research, and conscience protections. It is our hope that by allowing voters to access the responses and voting records of candidates, we can ensure the electorate is informed on life issues before they vote.

Of the Senate candidates, all the main candidates (including Charles Boustany, Caroline Fayard, John Fleming, John Kennedy, and Rob Maness) answered the questionnaire except for Foster Campbell.

Help us educate other voters by sharing the results on social media, as well as through email and word of mouth! Then, encourage people to VOTE PRO-LIFE!

Chers Bébés benefits the Dr. Zerben Bienvenu and Dr. William Smith Fund for Acadiana Pro-Life Education. This fund is dedicated to the pro-life education of middle and high school students across Acadiana through interactive presentations and activities. Through these efforts we continue to strengthen the pro-life spirit of Acadiana for generations to come.

Chers Bébés will also be held in honor of Mrs. Suzanne Tierney and Mrs. Brenda Desormeaux. Suzanne and Brenda have served Acadiana's pro-life cause generously for the past 40 years and have set a remarkable example to follow.

The format for Chers Bébés is changing this fall. The event will be underwritten by generous donations and sponsors, and guests will not have to pay to attend (there will be an appeal for donations at the end of the evening).

Event organizers are currently seeking sponsors and table hosts.
