IT'S A WRAP!
With more than 1,200 in-person attendees and hundreds of virtual guests, the 16th
annual Land Investment Expo, which took place in Des Moines on January 10,
exceeded all expectations, including my own. (For the record: The Land Report is a
media sponsor of the Land Expo.)
The day began with Iowa Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg welcoming attendees
and introducing author and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Geopolitical strategist
Peter Zeihan presented a bullish report on the prospects of the US farmland sector.
Also taking center stage were Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy, who joined us virtually; Frey Farms CEO Sarah Frey, who shared her inspiring success story; the
ever-insightful Frank Luntz, who discussed the state of American democracy; and
Professor Jeremy Siegel, whose Stocks for the Long Run has long been recognized
as the authoritative guide to investing. A dozen-plus well-attended breakout sessions also took
place.
In the months ahead, we will feature summaries of many of these presentations at
LandReport.com. To kick off our coverage, allow me to direct you to Bill Briggs’s
profile of the one and only Jimmy John Liautaud, founder of Jimmy John’s
Sandwiches (above).
