Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual community forum and made it such a resounding success.
We hope the conversations had last night are just a starting point for something greater.
The affordable, vibrant and welcoming Capitol Hill we all want is possible, as long as we keep working to move these conversations
In that spirit, here are five ways you can stay involved with the topics discussed last night:
Capitol Hill Renter Initiative
- Representatives from the Renter Initiative will be at V2, the temporary arts space in the old Value Village building, on June 9th during their 5-6:30 pm open house. It coincides with the Capitol Hill Art Walk, so it's a great opportunity to explore Capitol Hill's art scene and learn more about the initiative's work.
Business Improvement Area Expansion
- Register for the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce's annual Capitol Hill Clean Sweep, in partnership with Pridefest on Sunday June 5th.
Preserving Arts Spaces
Parking Benefits District
- Keep your eyes peeled for a "Statement of Legislative Intent" from the city about a parking benefit district. It's the next step in the process, and should be out by the end of June. Subscribe to Seattle City Council's Sustainability & Transportation committee's agendas to stay up to date.
- Connect with the organizers behind the Lid I-5 movement and learn how you can add your voice in support of this momentous project.
Finally, we want to extend a special thank you to our presenters, facilitators, local city officials and all of our volunteers who made the night such a success. We couldn't have done it without you.
