Where Would I/YOU Be Without The Lord??? 3/9/25

25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
Where could I go, oh where could I go?
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend, to help me in the end
Where could I go, but to the Lord?
SMILE!! I tried to find a “suitable” rendition of this OLD, (and I mean OLD) hymn, BUT......................
All renditions were TOO OLD, IE, either Jimmy Swaggart, Elvis Presley, or Bill Gaither........
For the last couple of weeks I have been “hung up” on Psalm 73-in its entirety.
WHERE would I/YOU go, WHAT would YOU/I do without knowing the Lord Jesus Christ???????????????????????
I am STILL AMAZED and wondrous as to HOW/WHY Jesus SAVED me????????
Out of the billion/TRILLIONS of people alive today on planet earth and the unfathomable numbers of peoples before us:

How well do I REMEMBER the HOW:
I was 20 years old and a long haired, dope smoking, bell bottomed Hippie, with no direction and no hope for the future. Vietnam was raging, my friends returning home in body bags or hooked on the then raging trend-HEROIN.
JESUS FREAKS WERE IN THE STREETS HANDING TICKETS OUT FOR GOD-per Sir Elton John, George Harrison was wailing MY SWEET LORD, and Cat Stevens was prophesying that a PEACE TRAIN was soon to arrive.
As is prepared to attend the homecoming of two of my SURVIVING friends from said Vietnam, who had somehow managed to smuggle a kilo of prized Vietnam Red marijuana through the US Postal Service mail, I instead went to a PRAYER MEETING!!??????? WHY????????????????????
I was NOT religious, had absolutely no inclination to attend ANY Church, no knowledge of Jesus Christ. PERIOD.
I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR GOD-ESPECIALLY JESUS
John 1:11-13 (KJV)
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
BUT, beloved, you see............. JESUS WAS LOOKING FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!

Now reread Psalm 73 with the above thoughts in hand:

23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
WHERE WOULD YOU BE WITHOUT THE LORD??????
