Fr. Wes 400x400.jpg

From Father Wes ...

It was so wonderful to be able to gather with so many of you last Wednesday night. We had nearly 100 people in attendance along with good food, some wonderful sausages and peppers and Andrea’s perfect cheese sticks to name a few, and great fellowship. I plan to have a lot more gatherings like this moving forward. As discussed at the Potluck, please keep talking with one another about the losses you have experienced as a church and as individuals. Keeping that stuff bottled up will not help anyone. This week has brought even more loss into our church family and we know that it is going to continue.

On a happier note, we will be having a New Year’s Brunch after the 10 am service on January 2. Please make plans to join us even if you attend one of the other services. I am excited to see you all this week at all of our services and remember that the church office will be closed next week.

In Memoriam

The Rev. John Hagood

It was with great sadness that Fr. Wes informed St. Augustine's parish of the passing of Fr. John Hagood. He passed peacefully on Monday, Dec. 20 surrounded by family. Fr. John's service will be held Saturday, Jan. 8 at 11 am and a reception will follow.

Joe Lurgio

It was also with great sadness that the parish learned this week of the passing of Joe Lurgio, husband of long-time church secretary, Terry. Funeral arrangements to be announced.

Please keep both families in your prayers.

Potluck Dinner

We had a wonderful turnout at the December Potluck dinner! Parishioners contributed to an impressive array of tasty treats and some important discussion followed, with many sharing stories of the support they felt from the church community during COVID.
