City calls special meeting to address short term rentals
The city of Oxnard will hold a special council meeting on March 25 to address short term vacation rentals, a hot topic over the past couple of years.

The Oxnard Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the City of Oxnard and Oxnard College to host a job fair on Friday, April 12.

"The number one complaint we get from our members is that they can't find qualified workers to fill positions, so the Chamber jumped at the chance to join the city and college in organizing the event," said Chamber CEO Nancy Lindholm. "We hope we can match our residents with local jobs."

  1. Held a New Member Mingle to get acquainted with some on the many new members who recently joined the Chamber.
  2. Met with leaders of the Channel Islands High School Upward Bound program to see how the Oxnard Chamber can help their efforts to secure bright futures for students.
  3. Had a Knowledge & Networking Lunch with featured speaker Jeffrey Lambert, Director of Development Services for the city of Oxnard.
  4. The Oxnard Leadership program had "Education Day" on Friday with visits to Oxnard High, the Oxnard Union High School District, Cal State Channel Islands, and Oxnard College.
  5. The Chamber's Water Issues Committee met and received an update on the city's process to change waste water discharge limits for non-residential customers.

Assembly and Senate policy committees this week gave approval to California Chamber of Commerce-supported bills extending landowner protections in connection with the state endangered species law.
