Where to Eat on Maui with No Reservations
Not everyone enjoys making dinner reservations every night of their vacation. And no one likes getting caught short with nowhere to eat.
If you didn't plan your Maui dining schedule ahead of time, no sweat. There are plenty of amazing island eateries where you can walk up, order, and be eating within minutes.
Here are some of our favorite places to eat on Maui with no reservations. The best part? Many of these spots are just a short walk or drive away from an Aliāi Resorts rental.
Food Trucks
Kihei Food Oasis
Home to over a dozen food trucks, the Kihei Food Oasis in the South Maui Gardens gets an A-plus for variety and ambience. Come here for juicy wagyu smash burgers from Burger Boys, heaping local plate lunches from Sparkyās Food Co., or locally-sourced salads and sandwiches from Bacon and Blossom. There is plenty more to choose from, come see for yourself!
Honoapiilani Food Trucks (West Maui)
Located just north of Ka'anapali in Honokowai, the Honoapiilani Food Truck park offers a variety of quick, affordable eats. Several food trucks share this space, serving everything from Thai and Vietnamese cuisine to plate lunches and shave ice. Heads up: some of these spots are cash-only, and others are open only for dinner.
South Maui Fish Co
South Maui Fish Co serves some of the freshest fish on the island. Expect melt-in-your-mouth poke, fish tacos, and creative specials based on the type of fish they catch that morning. Youāll never need a reservation here, but it does get busy, so expect lines at peak meal times.
Sit-Down Restaurants
Naluās South Shore Grill
Naluās South Shore Grill is a laid-back, open-air restaurant tucked in Kiheiās Makai Azeka Center. Technically, this spot is counter service, but its lively atmosphere, spacious seating, live music, and full bar put it a step above your typical casual restaurant. Naluās serves local favorites and comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Coconutās Fish Cafe
A favorite in South Maui, Coconutās Fish Cafe is known for its big portions, fresh fish, and family-friendly atmosphere. Though the restaurantās focal point is fresh fish, the menu is diverse and offers something for everyone. Stop by one of their two Kihei locations for a quick, casual meal.
Maui Brewing Company
Maui Brewing Company is Mauiās original craft brewery. With two locations in Kihei and Ka'anapali, MBC offers casual, open-air dining, an extensive list of local craft beers, and a comfort-food-focused menu. Despite being a brewery, MBCās Kihei location is a great place to bring the kids, with live music and an enclosed yard-game area.
Counter Service/Grab and Go
Island Gourmet Market
Tucked in the Shops at Wailea, Island Gourmet Market is an undercover grab-and-go gem. This spot has won multiple local awards for its grab-and-go selection. Youāll find pre-made sandwiches, sushi, and spam musubis, as well as a substantial made-to-order menu featuring everything from breakfast plates to local plates and ramen.
808 Deli
A longtime Kihei favorite, 808 Deli is a small sandwich shop known for having some of the best sandwiches, salads, and paninis on the island. Theyāre also famous for their house-made pudding, donāt skip it! Keep your eyes on their social media pages for $8 daily specials.
Foodland
One word: poke. Foodland is Hawaiiās go-to for fresh poke. Foodland is a grocery chain in the islands, and beyond poke, youāll also find hot bentos, a deli counter, and some grab-and-go selections, and a store full of groceries.
Be sure to bookmark this list for your next visit to Maui. We hope to see you here on the island soon. A hui hou!
Warmest Aloha,
