In April, I was hiking in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco with a small group. As we passed through a local Berber village, a woman rushed from her home to thank us for our visit to her remote community.

A few weeks prior to that, locals in Jordan, Egypt, Kenya and Rwanda thanked and blessed us for bringing tourism back to their countries. "We love America!" was a common refrain. It's been a very long time since I've heard that.
