Where to escape this Autumn
Inspiration for September, October and November!
When you're trying to pick a special Autumn get away, the abundance of options available to you can feel overwhelming! So we have shortened it down to some of our favorite destinations and trips that are great to visit at this time of year. If you're wanting to miss some of the peak season crowds, extend your summer, or you just need a different getaway this Autumn then we've got it covered for you.
Madagascar
Autumn is arguably the best time to go to Madagascar, which is why it is peak season here. Despite it being slightly busier in some of the more popular national parks, it is still definitely worth visiting. The most popular reason to visit is the plethora of baby lemurs around in October/ November.   September and October are ideal for keen birdwatchers to visit Madagascar, as the dry season is at its peak. It is hot with very little rain, great for spotting chameleons and lizards, but as we reach November temperatures can rise, so hardcore trekking trips may not be recommended.
We have many tailormade and group departures for Madagascar!
Galapagos
The Galapagos is an incredible destination to visit all year round, with the plethora of animals that encompass the islands. In the autumn the Galapagos islands are cool and dry, with temperatures starting to rise in October so it is a good time to visit. October is Galapagos fur sea lions mating season, also in November it is green turtles mating season.
Our Galapagos trips make the most of the breathtaking landscapes by trekking, kayaking and swimming through them. All of our Galapagos trips can be tailormade for the Autumn time!
Patagonia
In Patagonia, our Autumn is their spring, the days become longer and warmer, making it a delight to visit during this period. Due to this, it is not surprising that it can get quite busy, but the middle of November till the middle of December is a great time to visit Patagonia whilst avoiding the big crowds in December to January.
Why not join one of our group trekking trips to Patagonia. On our 15 day trip you will explore Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world and Climb fantastic mountains including Loma del Pliegue and the unmissable Paine Towers.
Guyana

Autumn is the dry season for Guyana, so you can enjoy your visit whilst avoiding the rain! With warm temperatures (typically being 20-30 °C ), this is a great time to see the amazing wildlife in this truly off the beaten track location. We have group departures on the 5th October, 9th November, and 7th December, for our Guyana Nature Experience, exploring the highlights of Guyana including visiting the world’s tallest single-drop waterfall, Kaieteur Falls!
Nepal
The weather in Nepal is ideal for trekking in the autumn due to temperatures of around 15-20°C, so you can enjoy hiking in comfortable temperatures. Whats even better is that you miss the coldness of their winters and monsoon season.
Why not try our Hidden Nepal Himalaya Trip, with a group departure on the 29th October 2019, this is the perfect time to experience a stunning trekking trip with a unique twist of culture!
