2020 Season Opening POSTPONED

At this time, our opening event for the 2020 season, originally set for April 5th, has been postponed due to the closing of all City of Shelby facilities. This closure includes our home at the City Pavilion. Please follow our social media and website for the most up to date information about when we will be able to open.

Until we can open as planned, we are committed to encouraging access to locally grown produce and protein both for our vendors and our dedicated customers. A nutritious diet is an important component of a healthy immune system.

Many of our vendors are willing to arrange farm or local pick-up for products. The link below is a continually updated Google doc listing current availability and contact information for local farms and vendors. As the season progresses, we will add farms with products that become available.

These farmers are a valuable resource in our community. Thank you for continuing to support them. At the same time, please protect them by not shopping with them if you are sick, washing your hands before you visit, allowing them to touch and bag food products for you, and maintaining adequate social distance from them and other shoppers.

Thank you for partnering with us to create a stronger and healthier Cleveland County. Please help us continue this work by securely donating on our Go Fund Me site.

Fun Activities for Kids
Parents are you looking for things to keep your kids busy while you work from home? Here are a few resources to help!

  • NC 4-H Spark A weekly lineup of activities.
  • NC Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Filled with activities and lessons divided by grade level.
  • Plant some seeds and talk about germination and pollination. There is refreshing magic in watching a seed sprout and kids will be excited to harvest their own food later.
  • Watch a virtual farm tour. Just google "virtual farm tour" and lots of options come up. Talk about where your food comes from.
  • Meal prep time is a great place to practice math skills along with learning basic life skills. Assign your kids the job of creating a menu based on the food you have on hand, and then let them help in the kitchen to prepare it. Meals don't need to be complicated to be fun and delicious.
