Help where you need it

If someone you know needs mental health or substance use help, CHA is here for them. Our second Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) is opening at 195 Canal Street in Malden next week. People who need support can find timely, high-quality care including a mental health urgent care service, a 24-hour crisis line, and routine appointments.

Everyone in Massachusetts can use CBHC services. Nobody will be turned away. The programs serve people of all ages – children, teenagers and adults.

For people in mental health crisis:

  • Call the CHA Access and Crisis Line at 833-222-2030.
  • Visit our Behavioral Health Urgent Care at Cambridge Hospital or the CHA Malden Care Center (opening week of Dec. 18).

In a medical emergency, please call 911.

Surgery at CHA – Great surgeons, better human beings

What makes a surgeon great? All CHA surgeons have amazing skills in the operating room, as noted by our recent national surgical quality award (ACS Quality Partner). But our doctors give you more. They want to know you and give you the time you need to ask questions and feel at ease.

Meet two of our outstanding surgeons, Dr. Andrew Katz - ENT, and Dr. Lisa Ferzoco – General Surgery, and find out why they care so much about you and your health.

RSV Update

RSV cases (respiratory syncytial virus) have been rising over the last month. The good news is that there are vaccines for people at highest risk like infants, older adults and immunocompromised people.

Anyone over 65 can get an RSV shot at any CHA Pharmacy. If you're 60-64 years old, please call your CHA Care Center to schedule an appointment to get vaccinated. If you’re pregnant, you can get vaccinated between 32 - 36 weeks to provide immunity for your newborn. Please speak with your primary care or OB/GYN provider at your next prenatal visit. Due to a national limited supply of the RSV immunization for infants and children, CHA can only provide infant RSV immunization to newborns in our special care nursery.

As the year comes to a close, many of us think about making changes. Why not explore working at CHA?

As a regional healthcare system and Harvard teaching hospital, CHA is hiring in many areas. We have great opportunities for nurses, social workers, housekeepers, food workers, IT and finance gurus, and many others – including people who have excellent customer service skills.
