Quick Highlights

  • Bike Lanes, Neighborhood Rolls
  • Destinations can (and should always) include Ice Cream

Main Avenue is considered a very bike-friendly and regularly used core artery for cyclists, that bridges east and west sides of the highway. The recently completed bike lane expansion on Main Avenue from Butterfield Blvd to the highway overpass provides a clearly labeled and easy to follow segment for your ride. Take a few loops around the neighborhoods around El Toro Elementary School, or take it a step further and head out to Live Oak High School and over to the newest segment of the Madrone Channel Trail.

Insider tips –  We suggest starting your ride anywhere near the Morgan Hill Library / El Toro neighborhood, to begin the ride heading east on Main Avenue. Enjoy this ride in the early afternoon hours, so you can end with a stop for ice cream from one of the many eateries in the downtown area.
