Update 118 .................... 7/18/2018
Ernestina in New Bedford Harbor
Whiskey Plank Club
There is only ONE WEEK LEFT! Don’t miss the opportunity to have your name (or to honor the person of your choice) launched into Ernestina-Morrissey’s next life, carried on the Whiskey Plank.  Here’s the link to the rest of the story:  Whiskey Plank Club.

Our first members are Wi lliam ‘Billy the Cook’ Pritchard and Thomas Pritchard, sponsored by William’s great-granddaughter. They are father and son and both from Brigus, Nfld and served as cooks for Capt Bob Bartlett on the Effie Morrissey. And we received this wonderful note with a membership from the post-1982 Education Years.
Community Preservation Grant
The New Bedford City Council will be hearing about the CPA grants on Monday, July 23.
They will be voting soon.
New Bedford residents can help by contacting your
City Councilors and letting them know how important Ernestina-Morrissey is to you!

Transom Planking

The transom has an extreme curve and some of the planks must be steamed and bent to a form to set the needed curve of the planks. Check how the recent work to complete the transom was done

Fair Winds and Congratulations, Melissa DeValles
Melissa DeValles has resigned from the SEMA Board of Directors and has been sworn in as a member of the Schooner Ernestina Commission.
Melissa brings great experience to the Commission. In addition to her time on the SEMA board, she has served as deckhand and engineer on  Ernestina  and is a Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) grad. She is well prepared to help as  Ernestina-Morrissey  transitions to her exciting future.
