Tibbits Park
This 4.52 acre park, composed of seven large median traffic islands, is located along North Broadway from Lake Street to Armory Place.

Once known as the Commons, Tibbits Park was named in honor of Charles H. Tibbits in 1931. The park has two fountains, a lily pond, a gazebo, three memorial statues a summer house and the Renoda Hoffman clock. The park is home to the White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival. Be Part of the White Plains Memorial Day Parade -- Monday, May 30, 2022 --
The City of White Plains will commemorate Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, 2022 with its annual Parade & Ceremony, sponsored by the Mayor’s Memorial and Veterans Days Board.

Honor our Veterans. Join the parade! Come out and watch. Or, if you are part of a community businesses and or organization, participate as marchers in this event. 
Groups will assemble on Church St. between Main St. and Hamilton Ave. at 9:30 a.m. Parade will march from Church St. to Main St., onto No. Broadway and end at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at the WP Rural Cemetery on No. Broadway. At the parade’s end, a ceremony will be held at the Rural Cemetery. The ceremony will be conducted rain or shine.

The City of White Plains is looking for Summer Camp Counselors to work their 2022 Summer Camp season. Applicants must be 16 years or older and fully vaccinated to work at our camps. For more information contact Sia Tofano at atofano@whiteplainsny.gov.

LOVE YOUR BLOCK APPLICATIONS
The Love Your Block application officially launched in April 22nd. Applications are being accepted until June 22.

The Love Your Block team is available to help with the application process by appointment and answer any questions.

For this first year there is a focus on small-scale home repairs and litter cleanups in the Ferris Ave. and Battle Hill neighborhoods.

Honorable Harry Bright Honored by the
New Westchester Symphony Orchestra
The New Westchester Symphony Orchestra celebrated its long-standing member Harry Bright's lifelong dedication to music and education by naming the orchestra's concertmaster's chair after him in perpetuity.

The presentation took place during the orchestra's first in-person performance since COVID-19, under the baton of a new conductor, Steven Huang, at a Spring Concert on April 23rd at White Plains High School.
County Executive George Latimer, left, and White Plains Mayor Tom Roach were on hand to congratulate Harry Bright.
A member of the orchestra’s first violin section since its early days, Mr. Bright has had a career of civic engagement and community service. He was elected to the White Plains Common Council, served as President of the White Plains Rotary Club and as Chairman of the United Way of Westchester, as Executive Director of the White Plains Commission on Human Rights, and was co-founder of the White Plains Coalition for Cultural and Racial Harmony and co-founder of Embracing Diversity and Ending Racism.
