Dear White Pond Beach Members,
We are excited to have received word from the Governor’s Office that public beaches will be allowed to operate this year. While we have been preparing for potential opening options over the last few months, we will now use the regulations that have been set to officially plan summer 2020 with guidance from our local Board of Health, Town Manager’s Office, and other Town Divisions. We have been preparing for this announcement and want to communicate what we already know as well as our plans for the coming weeks:
- The guidelines set by the state will create a variety of changes in our operation and in programming, including the quantity of individuals that will be allowed at the Pond at one time. We will be working on solutions that assure our employees as well as the beach-goers remain safe.
- The new regulations are forcing changes to our daily operations so the facility will look and feel different. We will work hard to create policies and procedures that keep our beach-goers safe in and out of the water. For instance, we will be creating ways to purchase guest passes online to eliminate the need for face-to-face transactions at the beach.
- To assure that we open safely and can meet all reopening guidelines, we are delaying the opening of the beach to June 13th, at the earliest.
Our beach-goers health and safety will continue to be our top priority. While this summer’s operation will be different than seasons past, we are confident that White Pond will again be a place that is fun and enjoyable for all. Your Concord Recreation team will continue to work hard to make the best decisions on behalf of the Pond and its members and we will update you as information becomes available.
