Whiteland’s Community Rebuilds After the March 31st Tornado


On March 31st, the Town of Whiteland faced an EF2 tornado that damaged residential areas and the Mohr Industrial Park. Since then, the town has displayed remarkable resilience, rallying together to support their own citizens affected by the storm and expediting the recovery process.

Job Training for Justice-Involved Hoosiers Improves Job Placement, Reduces Repeat Incarceration Rates


The widening gap between job opportunities and available talent in Indiana can be addressed by implementing job training programs for individuals in the justice system, according to Conexus Indiana. Graduates of Catapult Indiana, a free job training initiative, were found to be 3.48 times less likely to return to the justice system.

Municipal governments are democratizing decision-making by sending out online surveys open to all who are interested in sharing their thoughts, ideas, comments, and critiques with the planning teams.

2024 Eclipse Expected to Drive a Million Visitors to Indiana

 

Central Indiana is in the path of totality for the 2024 solar eclipse on April 8th. Johnson County communities will become attractive destinations and the local tourism industry is gearing up for the event, which is predicted to potentially quadruple the populations of smaller towns in the area for the day.
