Conversation about Conservation
Throughout our lives, we're both directly and indirectly taught about conservation. We learn about things like conserving energy by not leaving the door open, but there is much more to it! From conserving water to conserving species of animals, there's a lot we can do to help. See below for some information about conserving water and other vital organisms that need help in the local area!
Conserving Water
Safe drinking water is a blessing and one we might overlook. To ensure continued clean drinking water, follow some of the tips given here and in the website linked below!
  • Use full loads in the dishwasher and washing machine.
  • Use a Brita or water pitcher to get your water rather than waiting for tap water to cool off.
  • Take note of any water leaks, a toilet running, or faucet dripping could waste hundreds of gallons of water each year.
PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
Pennsylvania is home to many plants, animals and items that need to be assisted with conservation efforts. The DCNR reports over 25,000 organisms in Pennsylvania alone. The DCNR works at conserving our natural resources, but can't do it all. By going to the page below, you can see what they are doing and what we can do to help!
We Conserve PA
We Conserve PA is another conservation effort in Pennsylvania that focuses on land conservation. With their efforts, we can count on nature being present in our state, which boosts things like our health and the beauty of the state around us. This has become more true than ever, as local parks and the outdoors have been more appreciated than ever before this year!
