On Tuesday, May 28 student leaders created a Considering Equity and Community event where the entire school participated in activities centered around bias, equity, privilege, tolerance, etc. Thank you to the student leaders of the CEC committee for organizing this great activity!
What is the school's WiFi password? I know students use their ID number and CPS password, but what about the other WiFi networks? Sometimes one is accessible while the primary network is down.
In order to preserve the security of our wireless network, we do not publish the WiFi password. Authorized guests can request access on their visit to our campus.

(From a former teacher, Ms. Wojtuewicz) Just a comment: When we worked on the philosophy and direction of Whitney Young, the founding teachers wanted it to be a "real school." You have achieved that with your loving and stern guidance. I am proud to be affiliated with Whitney Young.
Ms. Wojtuewicz is a founding member of our school and served as our Science Department Chairperson. She continues to support the school financially and fill any need we have consistently. I also continue to be proud to be affiliated!

Is it possible to open the piano lab/music room before school hours? Some students would like to practice before school but the door is always locked.
Unfortunately, we do not have the faculty/staff to supervise students at that time. Please see Mr. Mascari, the department chairperson, to come up with possible options.

Girls Varsity Soccer Success
WOW! Whitney Young Varsity Girl's Soccer team finished the year on a tremendous post season run. With an opening round win against Streamwood 3-0, the Dolphins prevailed in their Regional Final over the host school Glenbard East. The next game was an impressive 2-0 victory over York, that would set-up the match-up against the number 1 seed in the Sectional, Lyons Township. After a hard fought game, the Dolphins came up short losing 2-1 in regulation. The season was very successful, as the Dolphins finished the season 18-7-1 with a runner-up in the City Championship and the first Sectional Final appearance in many years. Thank you to the parents, the coaching staff, and all the wonderful people at Whitney Young that made this a year to remember.
