Where can I lock my bike at school?
There are bike racks around the perimeter of our campus. The bike racks just north of the Academic Building on Adams are most utilized.

Would the school endorse a request to the CTA to have UIC-bound blue line trains turn around at Racine instead of UIC? This would require the trains to only travel one more stop, but would make the trains much more convenient for WY students and faculty and help prevent students from being tardy to class.
Whatever will make our students have a better experience, I am willing to support. Please come down to my office this week to discuss.

Why can’t students carry pepper spray? Many students at WY take public transportation. It is very dangerous and I would feel better taking the train/bus with some form of a weapon. Is it possible for students to turn in the pepper spray and collect them on the way out, without being able to enter with them again?
Unfortunately we had an incident several years ago when a student sprayed pepper spray and several students had to be transported to the hospital because of their asthmatic conditions. I suggest you bring a zip locked bag to the Main Office with your name on it. We will have a box for you to deposit your pepper spray when you arrive and can pick it up at the end of your day. I know this sounds cumbersome but we are trying to protect all students.
Dr. Kenner is soliciting questions for the Whitney Young Weekly. She will select and answer questions each week. Note: By submitting your question, you agree that the question and answer will be published and sent to the whole school community. Not all questions will be able to be answered/published. Due to the popularity of Kenner's Korner, questions may take at least four weeks to be published. If you have an immediate concern, please contact the Main Office during regular school hours at (773) 534-7500.

A new section in the Whitney Young Weekly dedicated to announcements from the Whitney Young Counseling Department.
