Dear Supporter,

Our Fiscal Year 2020 proved to be an extraordinary year, with the entwined public health crises—a global pandemic, unfolding at the same time that our nation confronted the impact of longstanding racial and economic inequality—testing all of us in ways we could never have imagined. As you will read in our Annual Report, the response by Whittier’s staff was equally extraordinary, as was the support of our community and friends.
We take pride in our response to the pandemic, but the devastation done to the Black and Hispanic/Latinx communities— where the number of cases and deaths have been 3x’s higher than any other population—will take years to overcome.

Long after the COVID-19 crisis ends, these communities will be recovering from the damage done to our workers and businesses, our young people and families, and the health and life of our neighborhoods.

We have so much more work to do, and our mission to eliminate health and social disparities has never been more urgent.
