Week Six: “Who Can Withhold The Water?”
What if God is opening doors we never imagined opening?
This weekend, as we celebrate Reformation Sunday and continue our Bearing Witness sermon series, we hear two powerful stories. At Jesus’ baptism (Matthew 3:13–17), the heavens open and the Spirit descends. In Acts, that same Spirit falls upon people the early church never expected God to include. Peter's response? “Can anyone withhold the water?”
More than 500 years after the Reformation, we're still learning the same lesson: God's grace is a gift, not something we earn, deserve, or control.
And here's the exciting part: God isn't finished reforming the church! The Holy Spirit is still breaking down barriers, opening hearts, and inviting us to see just how far God's love reaches.
Where might God be calling us to open a door we've kept closed?
Join us this weekend as we celebrate the grace that claims us, the Spirit that renews us, and the love that sends us into the world.
