What's not to love about March? The days are longer, Spring is upon us and it's Women's History Month! Yes it's been a bit more blustery than us island folks enjoy... but all of this rain has the wildflowers in full bloom and they are filling me with so much joy on my daily walks.

Octavia E. Butler meets Marvel’s Black Panther in The Deep, a story rich with Afrofuturism, folklore, and the power of memory, inspired by the Hugo Award-nominated song “The Deep” from Daveed Diggs’s rap group Clipping.

The Deep is “a tour de force reorientation of the storytelling gaze…a superb, multilayered work,” ( Publishers Weekly, starred review) and a vividly original and uniquely affecting story.

No bland or boring dishes, and forget all-day cooking. Rachel takes inspiration from naturally vegan dishes and cuisines as well as her Caribbean and West African roots to create great full-flavour recipes that are easy to make and will inspire you to make vegan food part of your daily life.

Makes a fab gift!

Ages 4-8
Written by VP Kamala Harris's nice Meena Harris, this NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER picture book will empower and inspire anyone who's ever been underestimated or overshadowed.
When a young girl sees a strong woman on TV labeled as "too assertive" and "too ambitious," it sends her on a journey of discovery through past, present, and future about the challenges faced by women and girls and the ways in which they can reframe, redefine, and reclaim words meant to knock them down.

Self-described “black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet” Audre Lorde is an unforgettable voice in twentieth-century literature, and one of the first to center the experiences of black, queer women. This essential reader showcases her indelible contributions to intersectional feminism, queer theory, and critical race studies in twelve landmark essays and more than sixty poems–selected and introduced by one of our most powerful contemporary voices on race and gender, Roxane Gay.

There’s one more thing. Lit Soul Candles are made in “upcycled” soup cans. The contents from these cans are used to make homemade meals for individuals experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles."
