I Work with Artists:

Integrating Artists' Issues

How deeply does your organization center artists in its advocacy work? This reflection explores whether artists’ voices are absent, occasionally considered, intentionally included, or fully embedded in the way your organization shapes priorities and pushes for change. It asks you to examine not only whether artists’ concerns are heard, but how consistently those perspectives influence decisions, strategies, and public action. Organizations that grow in this area often find that stronger relationships with artists can lead to more informed advocacy and a clearer understanding of community needs.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

FLORENCE FONT

Kansas City, MO

Tell us about yourself.

Florence Font is a Venezuelan poet and mixed media artist whose work delves into themes of immigration, symbolism, and spirituality.

With over half a decade of stage performances from festivals to local functions, Florence favorite thing is combining poetry and visual arts for a holistic experience for audiences and community engagement.

I thrive when I...

I am able to work with local organizations that are interested in bringing interdisciplinary performances or visual art exhibits to their audiences. It's the best when I get to meet people from all over the country through art.
