Grassroots Score a Win on H.B. 1013!
Among the signatories on the letter was GRA President Alex Johnson, GRA 1st Vice President Brant Frost V, Georgia Right to Life President Ricardo Davis, GRA founder Kay Godwin, Jordan Stein with Gun Owners of America, and many others.
The letter was released just before the State Senate Health & Human Services Committee met at the State Capitol to review the legislation yesterday. State Senator Kay Kirkpatrick (R-Cobb) serves on that committee, and now that she has a low vote-scorecard of an "F" and a primary opponent (Andy Soha from Cherokee), she and other weak Republicans were feeling the public pressure to address our many concerns with the bill.
Senators Dolezal and Watson also came under pressure to fix the bill from all the phone calls they’ve received. The three coordinated on the committee to improve the bill. As a result of the overwhelming public outrage and pressure from the grassroots, most of the problems with this bill, it has been reported to us, were largely fixed in the Senate committee.

State Rep. Philip Singleton
GRA-endorsed State Rep. Philip Singleton (R-Coweta) said it “is a major victory for the grass roots. We got EVERY major issue with the bill fixed with the only exception being the loan forgiveness program (but it isn’t funded yet so more to come on it). This could not have happened without you all.”
However, Singleton encouraged the grassroots to still keep an eye on how things progress during this last week of the legislative session. Speaker Ralston could try to have all the worst items added back into the bill during a conference committee between the Senate and the House before the final version of the bill passes.

“Great job to you all. Your state owes you a big round of applause.”

Constitutional Carry Getting Stuck in Senate Rules Committee—Again!
Call State Senator Mullis
With less than a week to go before the legislative session concludes, Constitutional Carry is being held up once again by Senate Rules Committee Chairman Jeff Mullis (R-Chickamauga). Both the State House and Senate have passed their own versions of the bill. The Senate amended the House version to be more like its own, better version. But that better version has been stalled. The Senate needs to pass the bill one more time in order for it to advance for signature before Governor Brian Kemp.
We urge you to call Senator Mullis today! Tell him to move H.B. 1358 through the Rules Committee immediately. You can text him at 423-421-8175 or call his office at 404-656-0057.

What's the Big Deal about Election Reform H.B. 1464? 🤷🏻♂️
Establishment Republicans seem eager to kick up a cloud of controversy with Democrats over H.B. 1467 so that they can appease voters concerned with election fraud, but this bill seems to be suffering from a lack of red meat. No wonder some are saying this bill is more about theatrics than substance. What actual helpful elements may be in the bill seem to resemble putting a band-aid on a canon-ball wound.
Election reform should not resemble straightening the chairs on the Titanic.
Some have been under the impression that the bill would require control numbers to be put on printed ballots, but lobbyists for the bill report that this is not yet true, although some are hopeful that element might be added in later.
What the bill does not appear to do are the things the grassroots have been clamoring for most of all—such as getting rid of the increased number of absentee dropbox locations, or considering throwing out the entire electronic voting system altogether. It purports to activate the G.B.I. but the Governor may already activate them, if he so desires. In addition, this bill appears to create new problems by, for example, saying that churches may not be used as polling sites.

Garland Favorito with
VoterGA
While some are hopeful the weaknesses of the legislation will be repaired over the next few days before Sine Die happens next Monday, the rest of us are still wondering why we should care. This right now looks like an effort by incumbent Republicans to be able to go back to their districts and claim they voted for election reform without actually doing much that really matters. We're just not impressed. 🥱

The Georgia Republican Assembly is the state chapter of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA). Republican Assemblies have organized around the nation since 1935, and the national entity was founded in 1996. Described as "the Republican Wing of the Republican Party," the Republican Assemblies have worked to mobilize and ensure people who truly reflect the stated principles of the GOP get elected to civil office and to prevent those who do not. Ronald Reagan once said, "The best symbol of the grassroots worker I can think of is the Republican Assembly ... The Republican Assemblies are the conscience of the Republican Party."
To refer friends to become a member of the GRA, send them to our web site http://www.georgiara.com/. Let’s work together to get the Republican Party in Georgia advancing its Republican agenda!
As the cherished national song America the Beautiful says, God shed His grace on you!
