"I think of life itself now as a wonderful play that I've written for myself,
and so my purpose is to have the utmost fun playing my part.
"

~Shirley MacLaine

Our wish for you this week is that you enjoy being you,
that you find an endless list of things that bring you joy and gratitude,
and that you have FUN playing the starring role in your life.

We just love the darling little dolls felted by Stephen, perfect characters for a Children’s story book!

“Hi, I very much enjoy your video tutorials and supplies. I had some vacation time so I finally sat
down and started needle felting. It’s so addictive! I learned a lot during the process and can’t wait to
start a new project and keep improving. Here is my first experiment. Mushroom Boys for my nephews.

Beata Brodka won First Place in the Doll Category
for FAIRY TALE GRANDMOTHER

12" H x 10" W
She lives in the woods with her 3 cats and a goat, so many people call her a witch,
but she's just an adorable old lady, that we'd all like to have as our grandmother.
She's also entirely needle felted from New Zealand Merino wool with some recycled elements used for her outfit.
Working on her took about 3-weeks and we became very close during that time :)

42 Triangle

GO FOR THE GOLD
for Super Fine Detailed and Surface Work!

You are going to LOVE the finish this gives
to your needle felted pieces, finish with a 42!

We CUSTOM COLOR our needles to make it easier
for you to be sure you grab the right needle for the job! ENJOY!

Magali came to Austin from Mexico and we had a great time making
these wonderful wet felted scarves. This is one version of a "cobweb" scarf
because the wool is laid out very thinly and holes are "on purpose"!

Laying out the scarf is where the magic is!

Our scarves each weigh less than 2oz...just think of how
many gifts you can make with variations of this theme!

My friend Magali is pictured here, her scarf is made with Merino-Silk blend in Black Currant ,
Tussah Silk Top in White
, Sun dyed Locks, and Periwinkle Merino Top,
and yarns from our Fairy Hollow Designer Pack.

Our scarves are shown all wetted and having been pressed and rubbed. Then came the rolling.
We rolled our scarves together so we could share the work :)

My scarf is the brown one, made with Spice Merino-Silk Blend, Sun dyed Locks in Rain dance,
and novelty yarns from our Apple Orchard Designer Pack
.

What You Need to Create Your Own
Fabulous Cobweb Scarf:

For full instructions, start with our Wet Felted Scarf Kit.

Kit contains: Silk Merino Wool (Choose color), and EASY Color Step-by-Step instructions.
Finished Size: 6" wide x 60"long with fringe (can be longer if you have a longer work surface)
*In addition to wool, we suggest you add some novelty yarns of your choice.

Wet felting mesh is needed to cover your scarf on both sides.
If you are making two scarves at once, you will need 2.

Sun dyed locks in your choice of colors!
These lovely mohair locks are sourced locally and dyed
using only the heat from the sun!

This is the soap we LOVE! Imported Olive Oil Soap from France.
Gentle on your hands, gentle on your nose, and great for felting.
Low suds and very effective. One bar will last and last!

Additional Items needed:
6ft or longer work surface
Pool Noodle, PVC Pipe or Closet Pole, Plastic Sheeting, Bubble wrap,
Old Towels, Sponge, Hot Water Source

Donna Brau wins a $25 Gift Certificate
to the Living Felt Store!

"I keep going back to mixed fibers on a fabric background and feel the happiest
it seems when the theme is aquatic - even when it looks as stormy as this one does.
All needlefelt, with a majority of the fibers coming from Living Felt,
though I also used a mixed fiber batt that I purchased on etsy
."
