This month RWF celebrated our 22nd anniversary. Since 2000, RWF has distributed over $5 million in grants and lifesaving aid and provided over 80,000 hour of volunteer service helping both LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ people affected by natural disasters, hunger, poverty, disease, oppression, and war.
This year, your generosity saved lives during the war in Ukraine, you helped stop the trafficking of transgender women in India; you provided humanitarian aid to persecuted LGBTQ+ Ugandans; you helped orphans and displaced children in India, Mexico, and Uganda go to school; you helped children with HIV and cancer in Cuba get the care they need; you helped endangered LGBTQ+ Iraqis and Syrians reach safety; and you helped transgender women from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala find shelter, community, and healing

WHO YOU HELPED IN 2022

• In Ukraine, RWF is helped evacuate LGBQT+ people and is funding safe shelters and emergency aid to those who remain. 

• In India, RWF provided shelter and psychological support to transgender persons and survivors of human trafficking.

• In Central America, RWF funded an underground railroad that helped transgender woman from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala reach safety, build community, and establish new lives.
• In Cuba, RWF provided vital aid for the LGBTQ+ struggle for civil rights. RWF also funds summer camps for HIV-positive kids and kids with cancer.

• In the Middle East, RWF helped LGBTQ+ refuges escaping immanent threat in Iraq and Syria. Dozens of refugees that RWF has helped now live in Canada, Europe, and the USA.

• In Uganda, RWF provided support to LGBTQ+ people by funding shelter, safe passage, and the medical needs of people fleeing danger.

• In the USA and around the world, RWF provided emergency aid following fires and other natural disasters.

• RWF helped orphans and displaced children in India, Mexico, and Uganda by funding education, housing, and medical care.
