Introducing the 2023 Superheroes of Tustin

The following community volunteers, ranging in age from 16 to 101, were recognized for going "above and beyond" to help meet Tustin's greatest challenges. They donate blood, tutor our students to help them get into college or into the next grade. They nurture our seniors and coach our youth on playing fields, in gyms and in pools throughout town. They preserve our history, bring art to the masses, and care for those among us who need a helping hand. They donate the funds that are vital to providing needed services. They strengthen our business community, help keep us safe, and provide food and medical care for a growing number who rely on their support. If there's a need in our community, you can guarantee that there's a Superhero of Tustin trying to meet it.

Here's a way you can Support one of our Superhero's Super Program:

This coming Monday (Labor Day) Ethan & Choco's Book Club (ECBC) is holding their most important fundraiser BOOK IT! 2023: Racing for Reading for Hospitalized Kids and they are offering a 30% discount coupon for supporters of TCF! Click HERE for info about the race and to sign up for the 5K or 1K Fun Run and use the coupon code BOOKIT2023_TCF30
(ECBC) was founded by Leukemia survivor Ethan after he noticed that books and reading were missing from the hospital experience of patients at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange County. ECBC's mission is to make access to high-quality books and literature-based experiences part of patients’ everyday care. Currently, ECBC is running a bedside reading program in patient rooms, a mobile book cart for patients in isolation, and is gifting hundreds of books each month to patients in a variety of ways (e.g., curated book bags for every child at CHOC diagnosed with cancer monthly deliveries to the outpatient oncology clinic and the Outpatient Infusion Center, BOO-KS for Treats on Halloween, Kindles and Kindle books for teen cancer patients and survivors). ECBC recognizes that literacy support for children fighting cancer and other life-threatening conditions can help promote cognitive health and social connections that are part of thriving through treatment and beyond.
