A Note from our Executive Director

Dear friend,

There is a picture of me with a baby from my first year at IVYP, that always warms my heart. She must have been not quite two years old when she reached up to give me a high five. I visited our Children’s Center today. This same little girl is in our pre-K class. She is so grown up!

One of the great privileges of working with children is getting to see them grow and develop. I love hearing them begin to use complicated language, express their feelings, and share with their friends. It is especially gratifying that they remember me. I feel so lucky to know that our work enriches the lives of children and families every day. We could not do this work without your help.

This time of year always feels like a “new year” to me. It’s the beginning of the Jewish New Year – Rosh Hashana, as well as the new school year. So, I wish you all a “Happy New Year.” Let’s invest in our relationships with the children in our lives and with one another.

"One thing I wish people knew about IVYP is the importance of their work and the impact it has not just for the present but the future as well."

Congratulations Class of 2021

On August 13 IVYP celebrated its latest graduating class of students who are moving on to Kindergarten! XX students participated in a drive-thru graduation ceremony with decorated cars, balloons, and even confetti! We are so proud of each and every student as they move on to the next step in their education. Check out IVYP's Instagram page to see more images and videos from this special day.
Harvest of the Month

Each month we share a healthy, easy and affordable recipe to try that highlights ingredients you can get at our food distribution. This month we are highlighting grapes! Grapes contain many important vitamins and minerals and are high in antioxidants. We love this simple and delicious salad recipe that highlights many summer seasonal foods including cucumbers, lemon and of course grapes!

Get Involved with IVYP
IVYP needs your support as we work hard to support our community in the wake of COVID-19. We’ve stepped up and we need your help to continue. Please consider a donation to IVYP’s COVID-19 Response Fund to help us continue to provide the caring, proactive and flexible support our community needs.
Be a diaper champion by sponsoring the cost of diapers for local families. Diapers are one of the most consistent requests from our families at our FRC. Disposable diapers can cost as much as $100 per month per baby so every contribution makes a big difference.
Did you know that many of our most vulnerable students don’t have a dedicated place at home to do their school work? IVYP will purchase and distribute folding desks to any GUSD student who has a need through our new Study Table Fund. To support this effort click here to donate.
