An expert in this area will give an overview of the insurance market today and where he sees it evolving in the next year or two. What new if any offerings are on the horizon and what coverages may be imperiled? How to practice risk management to reduce your risk? What needs to be included in your waiver and is it enforceable? What are some common misconceptions about event insurance?

Permitting - All You Need to Know

This will be an audience participation session led by three faculty members who have seen it all when it comes to getting permits. Come prepared to throw your permitting nightmares into the mix. What are some useful tips you can learn from others? What is the range of costs for permits and police or other municipal services?

Tamara Keith


Saturday, December 14- 6:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.


Our keynote speaker, Tamara Keith, is an avid runner, is a Senior White House correspondent for NPR and appears weekly on the PBS News Hour as part of its Politics Monday segment. She is a former president of the White House Correspondents Association. She has run the Marine Corps Marathon as well as many other races. She will speak on the juxtaposition of running and politics, how she has kept up her running with a packed schedule and what it is like covering former and current politicians and staff who run regularly.

Road Race Management,  MarathonFoto and MYLAPS Sports Technology will again honor the outstanding race director of the year. This award has been called "The Gold Medal of Race Directing" by Bill Rodgers. The 2024 award winner will be announced at the Road Race Management Race Directors' Meeting on Friday, December 13, 2024. Our goal is to single out excellence (not perfection) among the nation's estimated 10,000 race directors.
