Lol, not really, but if you're into following the stock market, Beyond Meat has definitely captured more than it's fair share of attention in business news lately.
And why wouldn't it? It's the de facto way to invest in the future of food - plant based red meat - or something that has the identical taste and texture as red meant - there are currently no other pure play options to invest in, which is the key driver of the stock.
It's a meaty subject, to be sure. The stock is sizzling, but will it fizzle? Will investors take another bite to get a taste of more juicy returns? Will the stock get caught in the meat grinder that is Wall Street? Will BBQ'ers keep on grillin' even if investors' tastes start chillin'? Will investors who are new to the stock get burned?
Ok, ok, enough puns already! If you know me, then you know that puns and dad jokes are kind of my thing. I wrote an article about Beyond Meat this week for CNBC and ever since, I'm on a roll (you get it? Did you see what I did there?!).
Last night I bought a package of the Beyond Meat spicy Italian sausage. I'm planning on doing a taste test with my kids, except I'm not telling them. Wish me luck! We could use more vegetables in our diet. If they like it, I'm going whole hog on this plant based protein stuff. Well, not really. I just wanted to get one more pun in before the weekend:)
There's a lesson in this Beyond Meat craze for younger investors, especially now that the stock just dropped from over 200 a few days ago to 150.
Now, check out the video below and have a great weekend,
