June 2020
Hello friends!

Summer is underway here at the shop, and although things still look and feel a little different, we are enjoying the warmer weather, longer days, and seeing many of you stop by to check in! You may not see it underneath our masks, but we are smiling ear to ear seeing you walk through our doors.

We are very excited that travel has begun to reopen and our adventures around the globe are about to continue. With that comes gear that needs to be serviced, diving skills that need refreshing and future trips planned; we are ready to help you with all your diving needs. We have several new products on sale, and many manufacturers are enticing divers with unbeatable deals.

Nothing gets us through uncertain times like having a trip to look forward to. So if you need a refresher to update your skills, or a new class to learn something new, or a friendly voice to give you the latest travel news, we are here!

Your One World Dive Family
Through July 15th, purchase a selected Aqua Lung Regulator and BCD and we will install an Airsource, our combined second stage and power inflator for FREE (a $239 value)!
The Airsource combines a high-performance second stage with a power inflator. By eliminating the need for a traditional octopus, the diver can streamline their entire system. Unlike a traditional octopus that can drag in the sand or damage coral, you’ll take comfort knowing that the Airsource is right in front of you ready to deliver life saving air in a moment’s notice.

Stop in today for details and take advantage of this rarely seen promotion.
Service Center
Summertime is a good time to get your gear serviced. Many manufactures offer warranties that require your gear be serviced annually. This time of quarantine has caused a lot of confusion in many sectors of our lives. We want to be sure to remind you that if your gear has not yet been serviced for 2020, make sure to get it in soon to keep your warranty and service history up to date.

We also know that many people have had dive trips cancelled or postponed. If your gear is not getting as much use as it normally does, talk to our retail staff about scheduling a pool workout. Wet gear is happy gear!

If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call at 303-220-8282.

Whether you Insta, FB or watch videos, our social feeds have been active with new content daily to keep you entertained, informed and educated on our big blue world.

Last week we celebrated World Oceans Day! From photos of the sea to articles of interest, our social media feed is full of tips on ways to live an ocean friendly lifestyle or mini-escapes while we remain topside for a while (as well as some pretty great photos and videos of the ocean as well.)
Unless you've been living in a cave (and with quarantine it may have felt that way), you have heard this is "the new normal" a thousand times. But what does this mean for One World Dive & Travel?
  • Per CDC and Divers Alert Network guidelines, we've stepped up our cleaning and disinfecting routines for the store and our equipment.
  • When you walk in you'll see us wearing masks. We're trying our best to smile through our eyes, so please know this is as awkward for us as it is for you.
  • Spreading out students in class, pool workouts and customers throughout the store.
  • Temperature checks and COVID releases prior to any class or pool use.

What does this mean for you as a diver or snorkeler?
  • If you don't already, now may be the time to own your own snorkel or dive equipment so you know it hasn't been used by someone else. Mask, snorkel and regulators should be at the top of your list.
  • Spitting in masks is a thing of the past - purchase some mask defog.
  • If you are going to rent gear, many operations are requiring you to provide your own mouthpiece.
  • There are two types of divers in the world - those that pee in their wetsuit, and those that lie about it. We have wetsuits starting at $79.95.

Vaccines up to date? With travel being front and center in lots of medical discussions right now, vaccination records could be important for two reasons: (1) it’s important to know if you need any boosters or vaccines for an upcoming destination (2) having a hard copy to reference can be helpful for doctors overseas if you get sick while traveling.

Rescheduled trips have you miss your two year window to stay fresh? Then our Scuba Refreshers are the choice for you!

SCUBA REFRESHERS ~ If it’s been longer than 2 years since your last dive, then you’ll need a SCUBA REFRESHER. In this four hour class, instructors will share practical tips from their personal experience of diving and jump in the water with you to make sure you are comfortable setting up your gear, controlling your buoyancy and review your emergency skills. The class is offered three times each month, and is often required by a resort if you haven't been diving in a year. If you have been out of the water for longer than 10 years, you will need to schedule this class privately.
Call the shop at 303-220-8282 for more information or click here for information on our upcoming SCUBA Refresher courses.
Greenwood Village might not be the beaches of Cozumel, but if you need to get away for an hour and relax underwater, we can make that happen. Our pool is open and available for pool workouts to refresh your skills or recoup from a hectic week. If your schedule doesn't align with one of our already scheduled Pool Nights, or you'd like a bit more space, consider scheduling a pool workout at your convenience.

Here’s what you need to know about pool workouts:

~ Certified divers can rent our pool for $30/ person. This includes one tank of air and any gear you need to use.
~ You must bring a buddy! The buddy system is one of the key safety components to diving, and as pool time is unsupervised, it is important to have a buddy with you that can help in an emergency.
~ Pool workouts MUST be scheduled in advance.
~ Pool workouts will be limited to an hour. To accommodate scheduling and physical distancing between customers we will have to enforce this time limit.
~ All our rental equipment is being sterilized after each use.
~ The locker rooms are being sterilized daily, with an emphasis on touch points.

Until we can travel again, feel free to take advantage of this fun way to relax and unwind. See you underwater soon!
