St. Joseph, Michigan, April 17, 2019
Walking down Lake Bluff Park last summer, you probably noticed some major changes at Krasl Art Center (KAC). The institution underwent a major grounds redesign in Fall of 2018, adding a monumental sculpture, shaded plaza, new fire feature, multiple strolling sidewalks, five new sculpture pads, a bike rack, and a 140’ custom-designed bench overlooking the campus and Lake Michigan.
These physical changes came with a newly adopted mission statement:
“Inspire Meaningful Change and Strengthen Community through the Visual Arts.”
In addition to these changes, you will find contemplative exhibitions in both galleries, 41 works of public sculpture throughout Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, and regional artists featured in the KAC gift shop. Starting May 1, visitors have even more opportunities to - in the words of founder Olga Krasl - “make life more worthwhile” with new, extended hours.
Hours effective May 1:
Monday - Thursday: 11 AM - 8 PM
Friday - Sunday: 11 AM - 5 PM
Closed Tuesdays January - March
The new hours were selected after careful consideration of community need. Later hours allow guests to contemplate artwork in the galleries and explore all of the educational and artistic opportunities at KAC, regardless of a work or school schedule.
Krasl Art Center encourages guests to explore all KAC has to offer, now at all hours of the day.
