For more than five decades, the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University has educated the clinicians, innovators, and informaticians driving Georgia’s health future. With over 11,000 graduates advancing care across the state, the College continues to set the standard for clinical excellence and technological innovation.

For GaHIN, this partnership represents the foundation of whole-person connectivity in action. The College’s program in clinical health informatics directly supports GaHIN’s statewide mission to make health data accessible, secure, and actionable, empowering tomorrow’s care providers to understand the vital connection between information sharing and improved patient outcomes.

This collaboration also carries personal meaning for Dr. Denise Hines, GaHIN’s Executive Director, whose Georgia State University scholarship supports future healthcare leaders pursuing careers in informatics and technology. In addition, she is a proud member of the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions advisory board.

On the Move: Advancing Whole-Person Care Across Georgia

This fall, the GaHIN team has been actively sharing insights and strengthening partnerships across the state and beyond. From health IT forums to behavioral health summits and academic collaborations, GaHIN continues to lead the conversation on interoperability, data exchange, and the future of connected care.

Recent engagements have included the Georgia Primary Care Association Conference, GA HIMSS Annual Meeting, and the Behavioral Health Innovation Summit, where GaHIN showcased how trusted data networks power collaboration and whole-person health.

Through every conversation and connection, GaHIN reinforces Georgia’s leadership as a model for statewide health information exchange ensuring providers have the data they need to deliver the right care, at the right time, for every person.
